Welcome To The Collector Sector

Anyone who collects things knows how fast a collection can grow beyond a manageable size. Soon enough that prized library of movies, music, and comics grows too large for the simple human mind to catalog and the collector is left wondering just what he or she owns and where the hell it is.

Welcome to The Collector Sector, the perfect place to catalog all of your collectibles and keep track of what you have and where it is.

Site is still in development, if you experience any problems email them to support@collectorsector.com.

Will's Words

It goes without saying that superheroes are larger than life. Typically, characters depicted in the superhero genre are far beyond your average human in more ways than one. They are better looking than us, they seem to have better lives than your average Joe, and someone who didn't have the perfect body would never squeeze into spandex. Even the antiheroes and the every-man characters have it better than anyone I know - even Peter Parker married a supermodel.

On the other hand, despite being dubbed the Manhunter, Kate Spencer doesn't have things quite as rosy as the typical above-average superhero.

She may have joined the superhero gig but Kate Spencer's problems make Peter Parker's problems seem adolescent and trite in comparison. When we are first introduced to Spencer she deals out justice as a federal prosecutor by day. Soon enough she sees the need for more though and takes up the mantle of avenging superhero in "Manhunter."

But the life of an avenging superhero isn't all glamour. Spencer still has to deal with her ex-husband's valid complaints that she neglects their son and still hasn't quit smoking. And despite having the courage to don a skin tight one-piece suit of extraterrestrial body armor, no one is going to mistake her for a Victoria's Secret model anytime soon.

With "Manhunter" writer Marc Andreyko set out to create a book based on a woman that could be recognized as a real human being with real human faults. Andreyko has created something of an abnormality in the comic industry - a female character with flaws that are not sexual or designed to sneer at women. The faults in Manhunter could be applied to a male individual as well as a female and still create a fully functional character that is recognizable as a real human being.

The series has reached 31 issues, seen the release of two collected editions so far and is slated for a triumphant sometime next year. Kate Spencer is as flawed as you or I but her book is perfect.
